Hi, I’m Gabe! As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Professional Trainer (KPA CTP), I bring a unique, science-based perspective to the Triangle’s dog training scene.
For nearly twenty years, I specialized in using applied behavior techniques to improve the lives of individuals with autism. Today, I apply those same proven principles to the world of animal behavior. After years of refining my craft in shelters and daycares, I’ve seen firsthand how positive reinforcement can transform even the most challenging behaviors.
I love working with dogs—and honestly? The feeling is mutual. I’m proud to bring elite-level training to Central North Carolina, and I can’t wait to help you and your pup thrive.

But, wait. Who is QJ?

Every great mission has a muse. For us, it was Quincy Jones.
Named after the legendary music producer, Quincy was Gabriel’s first dog as an adult and, more importantly, his best friend. He was the embodiment of a “good dog”—kind, steady, and full of heart. When we lost Quincy in the summer of 2024, it left a void that only a dog’s love can fill.
We decided the best way to honor his legacy was to pay it forward. QJ’s Good Dog Academy was born as a tribute to that bond. Our goal is to help every owner find the “Quincy” in their own dog—sharing that same sweetness, goodness, and connection with families throughout the Triangle.
